Advanced Features
These are some of the advanced features in the Data Parallel C Extensions:
-
Nodal functions.
Nodal functions execute on each parallel node.
You would use nodal functions if you wanted each processor to
start doing true MIMD parallelism (where each processor executes
different tasks) at some point in your calculation.
-
Elemental functions.
Elemental functions operate independently on
their arguments. If an elemental function is applied to
a parallel variable, then it is the same as the function being applied
to each individual element of the parallel variable, in any order.
-
Parallel pointers.
For more information on these topics, see the DPCE specification.

previous topic (intrinsics) or the
next topic (examples).
